Ethnicity
Video - 2005 - 19m 33s
What does it mean to be an African-American? What about an Asian-American? This experimental documentary explores the notion of ethnicity and how it is perceived in our society today. The filmmakers walk around New York City and ask random strangers the question: "what ethnicity do you think I am?" Along with these street interviews, the documentary also juxtaposes the filmmakers' family photographs and their commentaries regarding their racial backgrounds. Comical and sensitive, the film is an interesting examination of our identity, culture, and race.
